Our sweet Scarlett Mae is two months old! She weighs 14.13 pounds, is in the 97th percentile for weight and the 91st percentile for height. So far, Scarlett has been a dream baby! She is seriously so chill and is the complete opposite of how Grey was. She hardly ever cries and when she does it’s just a small whimper. We joke that even when she’s hungry she is usually just like, “Hey mom, I don’t want to inconvenience you but when you get a minute, I’m kinda hungry.” We went to dinner at a friend’s house the other night and she started crying right as we were about to leave. Kane and I looked at each other and he just goes, “Well, that’s weird!” I swear this girl is either sleeping, eating or smiling!
Her face finally cleared up from all of her baby acne! I didn’t think it was ever going to leave. My heart just broke looking at her because it looked so irritating and painful. I know it didn’t bother her one bit but it just looked miserable. I even took her in to the doctor at one point because I thought it might be eczema…but she said it was just a bad case of baby acne! I am so glad it has gone away.
Breastfeeding is going really well and she is sleeping great at night! She loves to snuggle and enjoys sleeping in. We get to sleep in until 8 on the weekends when Kane is home to get up with Grey and that is amazing! She also takes really great naps during the day. I remember being anxious to take Grey anywhere because he would wake up screaming…but not Scarlett. She sleeps wherever we go and if she wakes up she just looks around and observes everything. Everyone says that she will probably give me hell in high school so we’ll just have to see about that!
We hardly ever call her Scarlett. She has a lot of other names though. We call her Scar, Scarlie Mae, baby sister, princess, pretty girl or girlfriend.
I think she gets most of her looks from her Dad…but I’m pretty sure she has my eyes. She also might have some red hair! I think it’s still too early to tell but so far it’s looking red. That definitely comes from her Dad!
Grey has been getting so much better about being gentle with her and loves that she is starting to smile and laugh. Every time she makes a noise he looks over and asks, “Is she talkin?!” It’s the cutest thing ever! I am so excited for the day when he can really make her belly laugh. He is going to love it.
She has been the sweetest addition to our family and we just adore her!
Happy two months, baby girl!
We love you!
