I am back today with another post on chalk paint! Normally when I work with chalk paint, it’s for painting furniture or cabinets…but today we are doing smaller crafts! A family friend recently reached out to me and asked if I wanted to try her new A Chalkin’ Good Time chalk paint line so I immediately said, “Yes!”. She sent me some chalk paste and a few transfers (or stencils) and I got to work.
I actually really liked using the stencils! They are reusable and have a vinyl lining so that your paint doesn’t bleed through like a regular stencil. Once you are done with the stencil, you simply rinse it off with water and let it air dry. It remains sticky so that you can use it over and over! I’ve never worked with anything like this before and I must say, it’s my new favorite. If you look closely in the photo below, you can see the vinyl backing throughout the stencil. The paint is also really neat because it can be layered, glittered and even written on when it’s dry.
Here are a couple that my Mom made. I love her idea of using it to decorate a coffee mug!

Have you ever worked with a chalk paste like this?
