I am back today introducing you to another Momma! Alexie is a stay at home Mom living in England with her husband, cute baby boy and their dog! She blogs about all things life and style with a little bit of Mom humor! I loved her answers and can’t wait for you guys to read them!
1. What is your name? How many children do you have and what are their ages?
My name is Alexie, and I have one wee boy who is 8 months old!
2. What is the #1 thing that surprised you the most about becoming a Mom?
I think the most surprising thing about becoming a mom was how I felt
so lost yet so fulfilled at the same time. I felt like I had lost a
huge part of who I was, however I also felt like I had found a piece
of me I had been looking for my entire life. Being a mom felt like
such an easy task, but I struggled figuring out who I was personally.
My opinions changed, my personality changed, my hobbies changed, my
relationships changed! I thought that I would be the same person, just
with a baby. I never realized how much having a baby changes you.
3. What is something you wish you had known before having children?
I wish I had known how fast time actually goes. I wish I would have
appreciated those late nights up breast feeding a little more. I wish
I would have relished the days where he would fall asleep on my chest
a little more. I wish I had taken more pictures of his little fingers
and toes! I blinked and he was 8 months old. Doesn’t seem possible. I
will definitely enjoy every tiny moment a little more next time.
4. What is your favorite go to easy meal or snack?
Smoothies! I always have oats, frozen fruit and almond milk in high
supply around my house! It takes about a minute and one hand to make a
great smoothie which means I can make it with baby on my hip! PLUS,
Hudson loves having tastes of my smoothies and with no added sugar or
salt, they are a perfect snack for him as well! That’s a triple win!
5. What is your most embarrassing/funny moment as a Mom?
Hudson was only a few weeks old and we were visiting my husbands
family, some whom I had never met before! I hadn’t mastered packing a
diaper bag and I definitely hadn’t mastered leaving the house with a
baby yet. When we got to where we were going, I realised that Hudson
had peed through his diaper and all over the clothes he was in.
Somehow, I had an extra pair of clothes but no extra diapers. I had to
wrap him in a muslin and hope for the best. I was so embarrassed and I
could see on his families face that they were embarrassed for me.
Moral of the story: Motherhood has a massive learning curve. First
thing I do before I leave the house now is check my diaper bag and
make sure I have EVERY THING I could EVER need!!
Thank you so much, Alexie, for letting us get to know you a little bit today! I can totally relate to #3. They grow up way too quickly!!
