In all honesty, I don’t even need to write a review on this stuff because the name speaks for itself.
It’s damn good.
For some reason after I had Grey, I became really sensitive to “perfume-y” scents and my skin got super dry. So I was on the lookout for something new in the face wash department. I tried a few different things from the drugstore and a couple of high end products but I really wasn’t enjoying any of it. One of my all time favorite bloggers, Bridget, reviewed this stuff on her blog and I was eager to try it out. I think I literally bought some of it that day because it sounded like exactly what I had been looking for. It’s homemade, all natural ingredients, and priced very well in my opinion.
I wanted to post a review after a week of using it because I was so obsessed…but I made myself wait! I really wanted to try it out for a while so I could give you guys an honest review…and luckily for you (not so much for me) my skin went back to being oily a few months after giving birth. So I’ve used this line on dry AND oily skin and it works on both! (Best of both worlds review here for you all…you’re welcome!)
True Story: I didn’t use this for the two weeks that I was in Montana and I got some serious breakouts. It wasn’t any fun and I literally couldn’t wait to get home so I could use it again. Lesson learned.
You guys, this stuff smells amazing. I want to eat it. And after taking a look at the ingredient list, I totally could eat it and I would be fine. It might not taste the best but I wouldn’t have to call poison control…and I like that.
My husband loves the smell of this stuff too! Another true story: My mother in law was visiting and we were in my bathroom giving Grey a bath and Kane picked up the jar and made her smell it! (She agreed that it smelled amazing.)
It also leaves your skin feeling soo soft and I really like using it on my hands as well.
I am going to be honest here and tell you that this stuff doesn’t smell as good as the face wash. It has apple cider vinegar in it and at first that scent can be overwhelming. But I have totally gotten used to it and now I love it. If I don’t smell apple cider vinegar after washing my face, I don’t feel clean.
I know I said to buy the face wash if you could only buy one thing…but I think you should up the ante and purchase the toner as well.
After falling in love with the face wash and toner, my sweet Mom ordered me the oil and clay for Mother’s Day. (She is also hooked on this stuff now, FYI).
I got the problem child because I have acne prone skin and there’s tea tree oil in it. Like I said, a couple months after giving birth my skin went back to it’s oily self so I was kind of nervous to put oil on my oily skin. It didn’t break me out at all though! However, I only use this at night for two reasons. One, I don’t think my makeup would set well on it in the morning because I use a powder foundation…and two, I like to use a moisturizer in the AM that has sunscreen in it. Texas is hot and sunny!
I’ll be honest and say I haven’t used this as a mask. But I have used it as a spot treatment! The spots are rare these days though (thanks to the other stuff mentioned above) so I haven’t had to use it very much at all. If I ever find the time to use it as a mask, I’ll be sure to update you! (Love it for a spot treatment!!)
I reached out to Kate and asked if she would give me a discount code for my readers…and she so kindly said yes! You can get 15% off if you use the code damngoodkm15 at checkout. The code will be good for a week so RUN over and buy some!
ALSO – I should mention I ordered the face wash and toner on April 15th…so I’ve been using it for quite a while. I can’t say enough good things so go order some and then thank me later!
