I left the house when Grey was getting tired that way he would be asleep by the time we got to the store.
This is about the time when I start getting the looks.
You know, the ones of polite sympathy but a little bit of “Shut that baby up!”
I’m not upset–pre baby I was giving this look too!
So I quickly start unbuckling the car seat so that I can get him out and hold him.
Of course the minute he’s out he calms right down.
So I continue to hold him while I’m one handing everything else.
Luckily the cashier was incredibly sweet and helped me out with the stuff I couldn’t manage with one hand.
I paid and made a mad dash for the exit…still holding Grey.
For the record, it’s really hard to push a full grocery cart while carrying a baby.
By this time I am in a full sweat and feeling pretty defeated when a lady walks by and says, “Aww, you have one beautiful baby! Look at those eyes! Just gorgeous!”
Grey flashed her the biggest smile and instantly my day was turned right back around!
A little later I was looking in his mouth and I noticed not one, not two, but THREE teeth!
you are completely forgiven for the grocery trip from hell.
Three teeth at only 5 months old?
I’d be screaming too!
Moral of this story?
A- Life goes on…of course.
B- Teething SUCKS.
C- Compliment a stranger…you never know when they just might need it!
