One year ago today we hopped on a plane headed for Houston so Kane could interview for a job.
I still remember the thoughts going through my head…
Could we really move across the country?
Would I be able to do that?
Is he going to get the job?
If he gets offered the job…will he take it?
It’s such a good opportunity…a good career move for Kane.
But it’s so far away from our families and friends…
Would we like living in Texas?
Honestly, I always thought we would just end up living in Montana forever.
That is where Kane is from…and where my family ended up.
Why move away?
I have to say though…moving to Texas is one of the best decisions we have ever made.
We love it here.
Kane is coming up on one year at his job and he is thriving.
We own a beautiful home that I still can’t believe I get to call mine.
We have made some really great friends…
and of course we have Grey. Our little Texas boy.
Something happens when you and your spouse move 1900 miles away from everyone you know.
You learn to rely on each other for every single thing…because that’s all you have.
We have grown so much closer and it has been so much fun figuring things out on our own.
I don’t know how long we’ll stay in Texas…but if it’s forever, that’s fine with me.
I posted this picture last year on Instagram while we were in Texas for the interview.
Of course no one knew that we were and it was kind of fun having that secret with each other.

It’s so weird watching the video because we live here now!
