Today is yet another very special day!
It is my Dad’s birthday!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!
Those of you who know me personally already know this…but I am a total Daddy’s girl!
And with good reason…my Dad is truly an incredible person.
Let me tell you a little bit about him.
Years ago (before I was born)…he made a huge move from Montana to Arizona. This was only supposed to be for the summer because he needed to work and winter was too harsh in MT to keep working construction. Well after spending a summer in Arizona…they wanted to stay longer. He kept working construction until one day he decided he wanted to open his own towing company. So he did just that. Mike’s Pow-R-Tow was born. (And so was I…somewhere around here)
He started this towing company with one truck…and one driver (himself). He worked around the clock…literally to the point that highway patrol would request him because they knew he would show up…even if it was in the middle of the night. Soon he was able to hire more drivers and buy more tow trucks…and the company got bigger. He even opened a second location in another city. I remember going on a couple of “tows” with him when I was little. It was so fun and my Dad was always so nice to every single person he helped. (Even if they were smelly…because as a little girl, I remember one guy just being “soo smelly!”)
Well one day he met with a man, ironically named Mike, who wanted to buy the company. This man offered my dad a deal (a very good deal…I still don’t even know the numbers…but I know it was good) and he just could not refuse and so he sold Mike’s Pow-R-Tow. His next venture was in real estate and that proved to be a step in the right direction. He was really really good at it. He won awards, made a lot money and again helped so many people. All the while still making time to spend with his family. He was at every game…home or away, he sent us off to every school dance…even letting us drive his nice cars once in a while…he took us and ALL of our friends camping, to the lake, to Vegas, on road trips…the list goes on.
Fast forward to today…he just landed a job that he more than deserves and I am so proud of him!
He was and still is great in business…but even better as a father.
So…a huge Happy Birthday to the best Dad in the entire world! I love being your daughter…but what I love even more is being your best friend.
