Goodbye peanut butter bars.
Goodbye negative temperatures.
Our weekend was primarily spent indoors.
We had temperatures below zero so it seemed like a good idea to stay in and do some baking.
I flipped through my family recipe book, (a gift from my mom at my bridal shower), and decided to make my Great Grandma Shirley’s peanut butter bars.
I remember the first time she made these for me.
I could not get enough!
And now I know why.
These basically consist of butter, peanut butter, sugar…and more butter.
Of course I had to sip on some hot cocoa while I baked.
I even made homemade frosting!
It was really fun making this recipe.
It is by no means healthy…but that’s okay every once in a while.
I got to think about my Great Grandma the whole time too…and that was really special.
She was my favorite.
Since I grew up in Arizona and she lived in Montana, we would write letters back and forth.
She had the cutest cards and I remember that they filled the bulletin board in my bedroom.
I really miss her…and I hope I made her proud by making this recipe!
Since our temperatures were well below zero, we decided it was time to break out the winter comforter.
This is by far our favorite one…but since it’s so nice and warm we can only use it during the cold months.
(Which luckily for us is more than half of the year)
The Christmas Stroll was this weekend so on Saturday we headed out to dinner and to check out the town.
They block off main street and the stores stay open late.
The whole town is just picture perfect…but it was -20 degrees so we enjoyed a nice dinner and then hurried home.
The rest of our weekend was spent inside watching football and relaxing.
I don’t normally comment on the NFL but our household is a Dolphin’s household…
and they won yesterday!
The game was really intense and we were both jumping up and down when they won.
I have been terrible about going to the gym.
I have exactly 12 days until we go back to my parent’s house to celebrate Christmas…so I am getting into gear!
I am aiming to get in at least 10 workouts by then.
To keep myself accountable, I will be checking in at the end of both weeks.
You can do the same and let me know what workouts you did in the comment section of those posts!
I hope you all had a great weekend!
