For today’s post, I thought I would share what is in my gym bag. Although I don’t need a lot of things at the gym, there are some very important items to have with me every time.
This is the bag I use on an every day basis.

One of the most important items in my bag is my workout journal. I write down every workout and every weight used. That way I can track my progress throughout the years. I have journals back from when I was 17 so it’s nice to look back at those. If you don’t have a workout journal, I highly suggest getting one!
Next, I have my iPod, arm case and headphones. Good music always makes my workouts better. There is a study in Fitness RX about how it actually helps you work harder.
I do have weight lifting gloves in my bag, but I haven’t used them for quite a while. However, the free weights at our gym are a little rough so I might start using them again. Cut up hands are never attractive!
Of course I always have chap stick with me! Baby Lips is currently my favorite kind to use.
Last, but not least, I have a stopwatch. This is important when I’m timing my rests and when I’m doing HIIT workouts.
That is all I have in my gym bag at the moment. These are the most essential items that I need to complete my workouts.
