Our wedding was absolutely perfect! Everything went so smoothly and turned out better than I had expected! We rented a suite at the resort for all of us girls to get ready in and we started at about 8:30. I felt really good all day long and was honestly just super excited! Our hair and makeup turned out gorgeous! Everyone looked so good!
Kane and I had decided beforehand that we wanted to see each other and get our pictures done before the ceremony. I read an article that really persuaded me to do it that way. It worked out perfectly because after the wedding we just went straight into the reception and didn’t have to make our guests wait. I really wanted a “first look” picture with Kane and there was a bridge at the resort that was perfect. Our photographers really wanted it to be a private moment between the two of us so they were the only people who saw it. I am so glad they did it this way because we were both able to show our true emotions without worrying about who was watching. We had one photographer go down the river a little ways to shoot and one up above on a deck. That way we had two different views of the moment. Our photographers were so creative and thought of the best ideas! Kane was on one side of the bridge with his back to me and when I was close enough, one of the photographers told him to turn around. That moment was everything I’ve ever wanted and more. The reaction from Kane immediately made me cry. I cannot put it into words but it was perfect. It was so intimate and so beautiful. Here is one of the pictures from the photographer…I can’t wait to see the rest from that moment!
After that, we got our whole wedding party together and took a ton of pictures! I only have one to share right now but I will post more when I get them!
When we were finished with pictures, we had about an hour before the ceremony started. I headed back to the suite with the girls and my parents (and 2nd mom). This was when I really started to get nervous! My stomach had butterflies and it was the longest hour of my life!! I just wanted to go out there and get married!! Finally, it was time and we all started lining up. One by one the couples went before us. I am so thankful for my dad in that moment because he was joking around and making everything fun. I think that if both of us were more serious at that time, we would’ve been crying! Being funny with each other was our way of “playing it cool”.
We got down the aisle and the ceremony started! Then before we knew it, the ceremony was over! I honestly think it was about 7 minutes! Which was perfect for us because we just wanted to be married and then go inside to the party! I only cried once during the ceremony so I am really proud of myself! We had a recieving line going into the reception so we got to greet all of our guests! We are so thankful for everyone who came and made our day so special!
Here are some pictures that guests took:
I think I will save the reception for tomorrow because this post is getting lengthy!!
Hope everyone had a great Thursday!
