So first things first! There was a moose in my front yard this morning! I couldn’t believe it! I have never seen a moose before and it was seriously one of the coolest things ever. I couldn’t believe how close to my house he was. I was organizing my kitchen and I turned out and BAM there he was just hanging out. He stood there for a little bit, ate some of our plants and then wandered off. I got some really good pictures though! Mr. Moose was definitely the highlight of my day 🙂
Now on to what I originally was planning on blogging today…
With our wedding only a month away, I decided it was time to do a little organizing. We will be having a lot of house guests during the week of the wedding and my kitchen was starting to become a disaster! Since we’ve lived in our house for a few months, we have started to realize where we would rather have certain things and where other things fit perfectly. For instance, Kane HATED where we stored all of our spices and seasonings. I’ll admit the cupboard was too small and it was difficult to find exactly what you needed without taking everything out. I switched that to a different spot and I think it will work much better now! So here is what I did:
I started out with a sheet of paper and wrote down every cabinet and drawer in our kitchen. Then I sat down and really thought about what I would like to go in each one. This might seem silly but honestly it really helped! I am obsessed with lists and checking things off so having something to look at while organizing really made me happy 🙂 Then I went through each drawer and cabinet, took out the stuff that didn’t need to be in them, and reorganized them in a different spot.
I love lists!
I am really happy with how everything turned out and I feel much more at peace now that my kitchen isn’t a cluttered mess!! Kane was really happy to see that I had moved the spices into a better spot! Daisy pretended like she was helping me the whole time but Mia just laid on her bed and watched 😉
Today is the first day of my “no diet soda or redbulls” challenge. Since I have the day off, I took Kane an afternoon pick-me-up at work. I didn’t get anything for myself!!! I felt very proud 🙂
Now I am off to get my stuff out of Kane’s closet (I turned one of our bedrooms into a closet and left half of my clothes in his…he isn’t too happy ha) oops!!
It’s Friday!! Have a good weekend!!!
